Le Bourg is a traditional Charentaise house, formerly owned by a vineyard owner. It is located amongst the vineyards and sunflowers of the Charente countryside, yet within reach of the beaches in and around La Rochelle and Royan. The house is nearly 300 years old and still retains many original features. Run as a bed and breakfast / chambres d'hôtes, we have three guest bedrooms and a private, secluded swimming pool. Breakfast is buffet-style and, on request, we can provide a full English breakfast. We serve evening meals and many of our menus are based on recipes we have collected during our travels. Le Bourg provides the perfect setting for a relaxing and comfortable stay in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. The village of Mareuil is not far from the popular riverside towns of Jarnac and Cognac and nearby local activities include golf, tennis, swimming, canoeing, fishing, cycling, river trips, wine and cognac tasting.
